The football events of the ongoing Kano State Higher Institutions Games, KASHIGA 2026, continued on Sunday with several institutions recording mixed fortunes across the various centres. The biggest surprise of the day came at the Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education Centre, where the Federal College of Agriculture, Produce and Technology (FCAPT) stunned the highly rated Bayero University Kano (BUK) with a 2-1 victory. FCAPT put up a determined performance to secure all three points against BUK in what was one of the day’s notable results. At the YMS-FUE Centre, Northwest University and the School of Nursing Kano played out a goalless draw in a closely fought encounter. There was another stalemate at the Northwest University Centre, where Capital City and FUE failed to find the back of the net as the match ended 0-0. However, KUST Kabo enjoyed a more convincing outing at the same centre, defeating KACEPS 2-0 in the second match played at the venue. The latest results have further intensified the competition as the participating higher institutions continue their battle for supremacy in the football event of KASHIGA 2026.
