As Kano Pillars FC is about to appoint Coach  Usman Abdallah as the team technical adviser. I reflect when I first came in contact with him during his stint with Enyimba FC, in Aba.

These days, I am a constant visitor to both school road (Enyimba Stadium), and Cameroon road where Usman lives, that makes me want to come closer to him. one trait that fascinates me about Coach Usman Abdllah is his unwavering confidence and willingness to take risks. Risks!  yes you heard me right. To be honest I  admire how he  accepts challenges with open arms, never backing down from a tough situation.

I can recall an incident during Enyimba continental match, when the whole spectators in the stadium are against him for substituting a certain player, the crowd keep shouting and showing their disapproval for his decision but Usman stand his ground and to the surprise of the spectators it was Usman substitution that scores the winning goal!.This mindset is a testament to his confidence character, and  quality as a coach that know his work

Kano Pillars FC  can expect a renewed sense of purpose and determination under him.His confidence is contagious, and I have no doubt that it will spread throughout the team.

As Kano Pillars FC embarks on this new chapter under his guide we pray towards victory and glory to the Sai Masu Gida.

I was at the production unit of the Triumph Publishing Company, Kano but my keen interest in sports journalism made me to be sports writer and maintained a sports column called (Sports Eye) after my mentor Sani Muhammad Zaria transferred his service to New Nigeria newspapers in Kaduna. And when the government closed the Triumph in 2012, I was transfered to lectured DTP in the Department of Printing Technology of Kano State Polytechnic. And now that I retired, i used to visit the institution weekends for part-time lecturing.
