The organizers of the 11th Kano State Higher Institution Games (KASHIGA) otherwise known as Governor’s Cup have finally wrapped off the event with their regular goodwill and thank you visits to the leaders of the participating Institutions and top government officials.
Malam Jamilu Abdulhamid Bello, the secretary of the competition’s organizing committee, explained that the visits, which were ongoing for months come to an end last week, were a component of the event, which saw them giving prizes, awards, goodwill messages and thank you visit to each of the chief executives of the participating institutions.
The secretary showers praises and thanks to His Excellency the governor of Kano state, Abba Kabir Yusuf (Abba Gida-Gida), his commissioner in charge of sports, Hon. Mustapha Kwankwaso, for their unwavering contributions to the game’s success.
The team of visitors also visited the Ministry of Finance, where they presented awards to the former Director of Treasury and now Accountant General, Hajia Jamila Magaji Abdullahi and the former Accountant General who is now Commissioners for Rural Development, Hon Abdulkadir Abdulsalam for their roles in the competition’s successful start and conclusion.
He also thanked the Kano State Sports Commission, the Kano State Football Association, the media, the Referees Council, and everyone who makes the 11th KASHIGA Games a success.
The only institutions that took part were Federal University of Education Kano, Yusuf Maitama Sule University (now North-West University), Khairun University, Al- Istikama University Sumaila ABCOA, Kano State Polytechnic, ECOHSAT, Tropical COHT, and Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education.
Others were Kano State College of Education and Preliminary Studies (formally known as CAS Kano), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso CAST, Tudun Wada, College of Hygiene Kano, College of Health Technology Kano, College of Health Technology Bebeji, College of Nursing Kano, Federal College of Agricultural Produce, Hotoro, ano and Federal College of Education Technical Bichi.
The secretary then thanked and appreciated all the Directors of Sports of the participated institutions.
