    Father’s death: Kano SWAN condoles Zaharaddeen Sale

    The Kano state chapter of the Sports Writers Association, SWAN, has sent its condolence message to its chapter’s chairman, Zaharaddeen Saleh over the death of his father.

    The massage which was signed by Muzammil Dalha Yola, the Assistant Secretary of Kano SWAN reads: “It is with deep sadness that SWAN Kano State Chapter extends its heartfelt condolences to our Chairman, Comrade Zaharaddeen Sale, on the passing away of his beloved father, Alhaji Sale Yakubu today thursday in the morning. We share in your sorrow during this difficult time.”

    “Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you mourn the loss of your father. May Allah grant Alhaji Sale Yakubu forgiveness for his shortcomings and may Jannatul Firdaus be his final abode”, it added

    “We pray that during this period of grief, Allah grants you and your family the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. Remember that you are not alone, and we are here to support you in any way we can.

    “Please accept our deepest sympathies and know that our hearts are with you during this time of bereavement,” it concluded.

    I was a staff of the then Triumph Newspapers, with keen interest in sports journalism which drove me to the unit where I was supported and oiled in the dynamics of modern sports reporting by my mentor/friend, Sani Zaria, the then Group Sports Editor of the Triumph. And when he left in 1995, I tried to sustain the spirit against all odds with a column sportesye. But when The Triumph was closed, I was moved to Kano Polytechnic as a lecturer until my retirement last 3 years, which gives me time to return to what I know best , the recreation of the SPORTS EYE.
