It is all over the town that especially in the sports sector that Kano State Government is cash-starving Kano Pillars, www.sportseye.ng is authoritatively describing such news as a big lie aimed to tarnish the good image of the government.

My findings revealed that the club is heavily funded by the government as it had spent over N25 million on the team’s only 3 matches of the Presidents Cup.

Therefore, the management of Kano Pillars needs to come out and clarify how such huge funds were spent on only three matches.

Details soon…

I was at the production unit of the Triumph Publishing Company, Kano but my keen interest in sports journalism made me to be sports writer and maintained a sports column called (Sports Eye) after my mentor Sani Muhammad Zaria transferred his service to New Nigeria newspapers in Kaduna. And when the government closed the Triumph in 2012, I was transfered to lectured DTP in the Department of Printing Technology of Kano State Polytechnic. And now that I retired, i used to visit the institution weekends for part-time lecturing.
