The Chairman of the Kano Pillars fc Management Board, Alhaji  Babangida Umar Little and the Technical Adviser, coach Abdu Maikaba have jointly commended the superlative show of the players of Kano Pillars Football.

According to a statement from the Media Officer, Sharif Zahraddeen Usman kofar Nassarawa of the club, the two officials made their comments separately after Kano Pillars brilliant performance after the club thrashed the visiting Sunshine Stars of Akure by 5-1.

The duel which was played last Sunday at the Sani Abacha Stadium was the first match of the second round of the NPFL.

The Pillars Boss who dedicated the victory to the Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano state expressed optimism that Kano Pillars boys would sustain the support and ultimately win the 2023/2024 NPFL trophy.

Little then urged the technical crew and the entire players to continue with the winning streak of both home and away matches up to the end of the league to lift the trophy and secure a continental ticket.

With last Sunday’s victory, Kano Pillars are now occupying the third position on the Premier League table with 36 points.

“The Sai Masu Gida team will on Wednesday 28/02/2024 lock horns with Katsina United fc in Katsina city,” the statement added.

I was a staff of the then Triumph Newspapers, with keen interest in sports journalism which drove me to the unit where I was supported and oiled in the dynamics of modern sports reporting by my mentor/friend, Sani Zaria, the then Group Sports Editor of the Triumph. And when he left in 1995, I tried to sustain the spirit against all odds with a column sportesye. But when The Triumph was closed, I was moved to Kano Polytechnic as a lecturer until my retirement last 3 years, which gives me time to return to what I know best , the recreation of the SPORTS EYE.
