National Youth Game: Why only 80 contingents for Kano?

Few days to the Eighth National Youth Game, insinuation within Kano state sports circle is high that the state is only carrying only 80 athletes and an undisclosed number of officials to Asaba the capital of Delta state which is the venue of the event.

What informed this unwise decision by either the State Sports Commission or the State Government is not known and all efforts by this site to truly unearth the exact situation proved abortive as nobody is ready to open up.

Even the number of the sporting events that the state will feature is still not known and the number of the accompanying officials too is not also known.

This site tried all its possible best to hear from any Ministry of Youth and Sports Development the true situation of things at the time of writing this report but nobody is available or ready to say anything.

But keep a date as we are working to know and dispense the fact of the matter.

I was a staff of the then Triumph Newspapers, with keen interest in sports journalism which drove me to the unit where I was supported and oiled in the dynamics of modern sports reporting by my mentor/friend, Sani Zaria, the then Group Sports Editor of the Triumph. And when he left in 1995, I tried to sustain the spirit against all odds with a column sportesye. But when The Triumph was closed, I was moved to Kano Polytechnic as a lecturer until my retirement last 3 years, which gives me time to return to what I know best , the recreation of the SPORTS EYE.
