- The Bichi-based institution dominated the encounter at the Northwest University, Kano, Centre, scoring three unanswered goals to secure maximum points in the football event.
- The result was among the latest outcomes as the Kano State Higher Institutions Games, popularly known as KASHIGA, continued across different centres in the state.
- According to the Games Desk Officer, Abdulkadir, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso College of Education also recorded a narrow victory over Abdu Bako College of Agriculture, Dambatta, in another football encounter.
- At the Yusuf Maitama Sule Federal University Centre, Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Kumbotso, edged Yusuf Maitama Sule College of Education, Ghari, 1–0.
- With the competition entering its third day, participating institutions are intensifying their efforts to secure victories and improve their chances of emerging among the leading contenders for honours.
- The KASHIGA Staff Games continue with more fixtures and events expected to take place across the various competition centres.

I was a staff of the then Triumph Newspapers, with keen interest in sports journalism which drove me to the unit where I was supported and oiled in the dynamics of modern sports reporting by my mentor/friend, Sani Zaria, the then Group Sports Editor of the Triumph. And when he left in 1995, I tried to sustain the spirit against all odds with a column sportesye. But when The Triumph was closed, I was moved to Kano Polytechnic as a lecturer until my retirement last 3 years, which gives me time to return to what I know best , the recreation of the SPORTS EYE.
