    KASHIGA Day 4: More teams know stands..as Kano Poly loses second match

    As the on-going 11th Kano State Higher Institution Games (KASHIGA) otherwise known as the Governor’s Cup enters its third day, the FCO Agric yesterday lost to  Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso CAS by a lone goal at Yusuf Maitama Sule University center.

    Similarly, the Federal University of Education Kano team defeated its  School of Health Tech Kano by two goals to nothing at the  Saadatu Rimi College of Education Center.

    In another match, Kano Polytechnic lost its second match consecutively when they lost  0-1 to  School of Hygiene Kano at the Federal University of Education Kano center.

    In another encounter, Saadatu Rimi College of Education team triumph over their Audu Bako COAD side by a lone goal at the Yusuf Maitama Sule University.

    In today’s match Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso CAS will take on the Tropical College of Health Technology at the Yusuf Maitama Sule University while ECOHTSAT will tackle Yusuf Maitama Sule University team at the Federal University of Education Kano.

    The School of Health Tech Bebeji to play host to the College of Nursing Kano at the  Saadatu Rimi College of Education center.

    Finally, at the Yusuf Maitama Sule University team center, FCE (T) Bichi team will face FCO Agric.

    I was a staff of the then Triumph Newspapers, with keen interest in sports journalism which drove me to the unit where I was supported and oiled in the dynamics of modern sports reporting by my mentor/friend, Sani Zaria, the then Group Sports Editor of the Triumph. And when he left in 1995, I tried to sustain the spirit against all odds with a column sportesye. But when The Triumph was closed, I was moved to Kano Polytechnic as a lecturer until my retirement last 3 years, which gives me time to return to what I know best , the recreation of the SPORTS EYE.
