The Conservator General of the National Parks Service (NPS), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Goni, has assured the organisers of the Nigerian Para-Military Ringo Sport Tournament (NIPAMRIST) Abuja 2026 of the Service’s unwavering support, promising to mobilise officers and resources to ensure the agency’s active and successful participation in the maiden edition of the tournament.
According to a released signed by Ahmed Mohammed Sule, the National President of Ringo Sport Club, the assurance was given when the National Inter-Agency Organising Committee (NIAOC) of the Ringo Sport Club–Nigeria paid a courtesy visit to the Conservator General at the NPS headquarters in Abuja.
The visit was part of ongoing stakeholder engagements ahead of the tournament, scheduled to hold from Thursday, 19 November to Saturday, 21 November 2026 at the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

NIPAMRIST Abuja 2026 is designed to bring together officers and personnel from Nigerian para-military establishments, promoting inter-agency relations, national cohesion, teamwork, and physical fitness through the sport of Ringo.
The National Park Service is one of the agencies already registered for the tournament, alongside the Nigerian Customs Service, Federal Road Safety Corps, Federal Fire Service, Nigerian Immigration Service, and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps among others.
Speaking during the visit, the Conservator General, Dr. Ibrahim Musa Goni, commended the Ringo Sport Club–Nigeria for initiating the tournament, describing it as a vital platform for strengthening the esprit de corps among para-military agencies.
He emphasised that the NPS, as a full-fledged para-military organisation, recognises the value of sports in fostering discipline, camaraderie and operational readiness.
“The National Park Service is fully committed to this initiative. We will not only participate actively but will also provide the necessary support to ensure that NIPAMRIST Abuja 2026 achieves its objectives,” the Conservator General stated.
He directed the relevant departments within the Service to liaise with the organising committee to work out the modalities for NPS’s involvement, including the mobilisation of athletes and officials.
The National President of Ringo Sport Club–Nigeria and Chairman of the NIAOC, Malam Ahmed Mohammed Sule, who led the delegation, expressed appreciation to the Conservator General for the warm reception and the Service’s commitment.
He noted that the tournament, which will feature about 120 players and officials from eight para-military agencies, is also designed to link sports with tourism, an area where the National Park Service’s mandate aligns naturally.
“We are delighted by the Conservator General’s promise of support. The National Park Service’s involvement will add significant value to NIPAMRIST Abuja 2026, and we look forward to a rewarding partnership,” Malam Sule said.
The courtesy visit concluded with both parties agreeing to maintain open lines of communication as preparations for the tournament intensify. The organising committee is expected to continue its advocacy visits to other participating agencies in the coming weeks.
