Sequel to the verdict of the committee of Jury of the on-going 11th Kano State Higher Institution Games (KASHIGA) otherwise known as  Governor’s Cup that concluded its proceedings on the protest submitted by the ECOHSAT and Kano Poly, the two have won their protest.

Hence,  they remain 1st and 2nd in group D respectively, and are playing the quarter final this evening by 4:00pm.

To this end, the Federal University of Education Kano will play host to Kano State Polytechnic at the Saadatu Rimi College of Education while ECOHSAT will tango with the College of  Nursing at the Federal University of Education Kano.

According to the organizers of the competition the semi-finals matches will be played tomorrow at the scheduled time and venue.

In another development,  the two protesters have been paid back their protests fees as stipulated in the constitution of the event.

Meanwhile the Tropical COHT has qualified to the semi-finals of the competition after they triumph over the Saadatu Rimi College of Education 5-4 on Penalties.

Audu Bako College of Agriculture also scaled through the semi-finals with a 6-5 victory over Federal College of Agricultural Produce.

I was at the production unit of the Triumph Publishing Company, Kano but my keen interest in sports journalism made me to be sports writer and maintained a sports column called (Sports Eye) after my mentor Sani Muhammad Zaria transferred his service to New Nigeria newspapers in Kaduna. And when the government closed the Triumph in 2012, I was transfered to lectured DTP in the Department of Printing Technology of Kano State Polytechnic. And now that I retired, i used to visit the institution weekends for part-time lecturing.
