Muhammad Mansour Ibrahim(Allawee) Vice President, North-West  SWAN

    Hello Comrade

    By

THE BEGINNING OF A NEW DAWN
I want to begin by congratulating all Sports Writers in North -West and KANO in particular. This is because ,of the appointment of Muhammad Mansour Ibrahim( ALLAWEE) of Freedom Radio ,Kano, one of you , by the Isaiah Benjamin led SWAN  to be the North -West Vice President  is an evidence that Kano is a Key player in SWAN National politics .
This is not the first time Kano had a Vice President of this Noble Association. To my Knowledge, this position has been within the shore of Kano SWAN for more than Fifteen(15) years now; Muhammad Salisu Rabiu,Ado Salisu, Lurwanu Idris Malikawa and now Muhammad Mansour Ibrahim.
This does not mean it is a birth right for Kano, but it shows that Kano SWAN is a force to reckon with in SWAN National politics. That is why I started first of all,by congratulating you all.
It is indeed a new dawn in SWAN.This position is not for Me but for you all  We must work together as one family. We must see this office as ours, not for Muhammad Mansour Ibrahim ( ALLAWEE) or for Freedom Radio.
Like you all know, I did not contest for any office ,I was nominated to serve in the electoral committee (SWANECO) which was another call to service, after my Six years Service as SWAN Kano Secretary from 2014 t0 2020..Here comes another opportunity to serve you once again.Am not your leader but your SERVANT.AS such, we beg for your cooperation and support
Nevertheless, my appointment as Vice President came to me as a surprise .As I mentioned elsewhere in this write up ,I did not buy form to contest any position in SWAN
What I know was that some positions were unopposed   during the Triennial Delegate congress in Omoku Port Harcourt ,Rivers State.,And some positions there were no contestant at all. These include Treasurer ,Vice president South -East,Vice President North-East ,Vice President North -Central and Vice President North- West.
According to Article 23  (j)of our Noble Association  “There shall be No Bye election” .And because the SWAN Statute in  article 23(f) allowed the President to appoint with approval of the NEC ,they taught it wise that Kano deserved another office hence the name of Muhammad Mansour Ibrahim( Allawee ) came handy as The Vice president of North West, not because am better than any of you, but because positions are ordained  by Almighty Allah.
However, I can not say I am not unaware that some of us are not happy with the process that led to the emergence of this development. But I want to call on all of us to be patient, and let’s work together and move SWAN FORWARD. We are aware of the pains of passing through electrical process ,when you fill you have what it takes to achieve your goal, yet ,due to certain technicalities one is not able to make it or achieve his heart desire ,its painful indeed But I want tell us that election or leadership is a WILL OF ALMIGHTY ALLAH. He gives it to whom He wishes to himself.

To Comrade Lurwanu Idris Malikawa(My Outgoing Vice president), may the inability to achieve your heart desire  be the beginning of a new dawn in your life. May Allah give you a better offer in future .With this I call on you  and all your teaming  supporters to join me in this new responsibility given to us in order to move the Association Forward.
Finally, I want to thank you all for the goodwill messages and prayers for the office of The  Vice President .I want to assure you that we are going to kick start our work as soon as the appointment  of The Zonal secretary and Treasurer is concluded.
Our doors are open to criticism and advice .
May Allah guide and protect us all.
    Long live SWAN
Long live Federal Republic of Nigeria

I was a staff of the then Triumph Newspapers, with keen interest in sports journalism which drove me to the unit where I was supported and oiled in the dynamics of modern sports reporting by my mentor/friend, Sani Zaria, the then Group Sports Editor of the Triumph. And when he left in 1995, I tried to sustain the spirit against all odds with a column sportesye. But when The Triumph was closed, I was moved to Kano Polytechnic as a lecturer until my retirement last 3 years, which gives me time to return to what I know best , the recreation of the SPORTS EYE.
