Kano Pillars football Club will this evening meet its Enugu Rangers counterpart in the Golf Project Field, Abuja.

The encounter is the round of 32 of this year’s Federation Cup popularly known before now as The Challenge Cup is slated for kick-off by 4.00pm.

Pillars who are fresh from their 3-0 away victory over Zamfara United FC in their NNL league encounter, will be in Abuja fully prepared to subdued their opponents and move to the round of 16.

The team qualified to this stage after another 3-0 win over Elager FC of Ibadan, Oyo state.

But with their experience in the on-going Nigeria premier league, Enugu Rangers FC boys will not be too easy to defeat.

But a member of the Kano Pillars caretaker committees, Muktar Ahmed Zico was emphatic of victory. “Our boys are on top form and we will be in Abuja to beat Enugu Rangers and move to the next round,” Zico added.

Kano Pillars FC will be back in Kano to play host to Malumfashi United FC in continuation of the NNL league on Sunday.

I was a staff of the then Triumph Newspapers, with keen interest in sports journalism which drove me to the unit where I was supported and oiled in the dynamics of modern sports reporting by my mentor/friend, Sani Zaria, the then Group Sports Editor of the Triumph. And when he left in 1995, I tried to sustain the spirit against all odds with a column sportesye. But when The Triumph was closed, I was moved to Kano Polytechnic as a lecturer until my retirement last 3 years, which gives me time to return to what I know best , the recreation of the SPORTS EYE.

An up to date presentation of sport and sporting activities in Kano. Kano Pllars, others the Dragon of Kano (my description pls) is fully poised to mussle it up with an old time popular Enugu Rangers in Abuja to determine winners of the 32 round of the 2023 Federation Cup. I will to beleive that Kano Pillars, with their fancy style will beautifully entertain the audience and beat up their opponent, the Enugu Rangers to win the cup. It’s however, imperative to advice the Kano Pillars Team not to underate the Rangers team, but they play their game with determination and zeal till the end of the game, when victory is assertained.
