    Habib appointed acting Chief Press Secretary to Governor Abba

    Following the departure of Malam Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the Chief Press Secretary to the Kano State Governor to this year’s Hajj, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved the appointment of Malam Hisham Habib as Ag. Chief Press Secretary to the governor.Habib will act as Kano Governor’s spokesperson pending the return of Dawakin Tofa who left the country to lead the 2023 Hajj Operation Media team in Saudi Arabia.Hisham, a tested Media practitioner with decades of experience in print media was the director publicity of the NNPP 2023 Campaign Council in Kano State.He is expected to take full control of his new role in acting capability with immediate effect, the governor urged all media stakeholders to give him the same maximum support and cooperation as given to Dawakin Tofa.

    I was a staff of the then Triumph Newspapers, with keen interest in sports journalism which drove me to the unit where I was supported and oiled in the dynamics of modern sports reporting by my mentor/friend, Sani Zaria, the then Group Sports Editor of the Triumph. And when he left in 1995, I tried to sustain the spirit against all odds with a column sportesye. But when The Triumph was closed, I was moved to Kano Polytechnic as a lecturer until my retirement last 3 years, which gives me time to return to what I know best , the recreation of the SPORTS EYE.
