    Inauguration of sporting activities: Gara-Gombe invites all

    The chairman of  Gombe State Athletics Association who is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Green White Green Sports Center Ltd as well as the CEO, Higher Institution Football League, Alhaji Ahmed Shuaibu-Gara Gombe cordially invites the general public to the three key sports activities in the  state.

    The activities according to the program of the events which was sent to this site, will be held on the 16th of this month at the Gombe State University Old Multi-purpose Hall.

    Number one of them is the inauguration of the Main Organizing Committees of the Gombe State Inter Secondary Schools Athletics Competition and the Gombe State Higher Institutions Football League.

    Also to be inaugurated is the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee of the Gombe State Primary Schools Games Masters Association.

    The last but not the least will be recognition of Gombe State’s Contingents to the last National Youth Games (Asaba 2023) and the MTN Athletics Championship Jos 2024.

    Alhaji Adamu Inuwa Pantami, the Gombe State Honorable Commissioner of Youth and Sports Development, Honorable Muhammada Shettima Gadam, Commissioner of Higher Education and Dr. Aisha Umar Maigari, Honorable Commissioner of Education together with Bar. Sani A.A.Haruna. Executive Chairman of Gombe Local Government are Special Guests of Honor.

    I was a staff of the then Triumph Newspapers, with keen interest in sports journalism which drove me to the unit where I was supported and oiled in the dynamics of modern sports reporting by my mentor/friend, Sani Zaria, the then Group Sports Editor of the Triumph. And when he left in 1995, I tried to sustain the spirit against all odds with a column sportesye. But when The Triumph was closed, I was moved to Kano Polytechnic as a lecturer until my retirement last 3 years, which gives me time to return to what I know best , the recreation of the SPORTS EYE.
