On Tijjani’s One-Year Blueprint to Generate Billions for Kano Pillars

I was opportune to listen to one Tijjani Shehu Yahaya in a Nasara Radio, sports programme, titled “Taskar Wasanni” presented by Muhammad Wasilu Kawo last week’s evening.

Tijjani Yahaya talked at length on how to transform Kano Pillars Football Club from total dependence on government for finance to a Financial Powerhouse. Interesting.

To him, if well executed it will halt the club’s financial woes and instead transform the team to be financially sound, buoyant and dependable on itself and all its needs.

He made me totally believe that something positive can be achieved if the government can listen to him and do as he design.

When they ended the program, I called the presenter and asked for the contact information of his guest which he wasted no time on and forwarded it to me. I too wasted no time in calling the number but no reply.

I then changed the style by which I sent a Whatsapp message to him via the number which he replied instantly.

I introduced myself to him and wanted to know if the Blueprint he was mentioning in their discussion with Wasilu Kawo had reached the government.

His answer was yes and went further to inform me that he gave it to the commissioner hand to hand in the stadium at the finals of Abba Gida-Gida one year anniversary competition.

He further told me that the commissioner handed it to the present chairman of the club, Ali Na Yara Mai Samba instantly for perusal and necessary action.

Tijjani told me that the commissioner even named him as director marketing of the club openly too.

But since then according to Yahaya, nothing-nothing because neither the new chairman nor anybody call or say anything with regards to the Blueprint.

But when I asked what the Blueprint entails,  Tijjani Shehu Yahaya mailed its e-copy into my inbox  to see.

Titled  “Presentation For Kano Pillars FC: Blueprint To Generate Billions Of Naira” which has about six to seven pages with different infos. The Blueprint was broken into parts.

Introduction is the opener where it welcomes and thanks for joining the presentation. It begins with a comprehensive strategy on how to generate billions of Naira for Kano Pillars FC over a period of one year.

The last page is Conclusion Training Experience Summary: It is on the recap of the key strategies to generate one billion Naira for the club.

Next Steps to achieve above are the immediate outlining actions to kick-start the implementation of all the stages on each page.

Call to Action, is the last item on the document which encourages stakeholders to support and participate in the club’s growth journey.

After perusing the document I asked myself several questions which I have no answer to.

One of them was why must we stop or discourage talented and hardworking people from doing what they know and also effect?

Since Tijjani has the courage to do this, why not engage him and see what he can do? If he succeeds I am sure it is everybody’s success, especially those following or supporting the team.

It is also beneficial to the government because it will no longer dip its hands in its coffers to fund the team.

For me we should tasked Tijjani Shehu Yahaya and people like Dr. Nura Sabon Sara and several others together to do the magic for us.

People with no capacity for anything should please give way for these geniuses to exhibit their knowledge and save Kano Pillars FC from financial mess.

Our people must start to detach or separate politics from the game of football. They must know the game of football has no religion, no political affiliation and it has no ethnicity.

They should go to history and know that the first  players that played and represented  Kano in the 50’ were all Igbos.

The game of soccer has no politics, no ethnicity and no religion on. It is blind to all these negative vices.

We should go for the best.

I was a staff of the then Triumph Newspapers, with keen interest in sports journalism which drove me to the unit where I was supported and oiled in the dynamics of modern sports reporting by my mentor/friend, Sani Zaria, the then Group Sports Editor of the Triumph. And when he left in 1995, I tried to sustain the spirit against all odds with a column sportesye. But when The Triumph was closed, I was moved to Kano Polytechnic as a lecturer until my retirement last 3 years, which gives me time to return to what I know best , the recreation of the SPORTS EYE.
