Dissatisfied with their current place in the soon-to-be-ended Nigeria Premier Football League, the management of Kano Pillars Football Club intends to bolster their team with top players from competing Nigeria Premier competition clubs for the upcoming season.
The club’s failure to secure any of the CAF continental competition slots this season concerned and disturbed the club’s management.
According to our findings, this prompted them to reconsider and negotiate an agreement to strengthen the team with more quality players, which will make them top the league next season and allow them to compete on a continental level next season.
This site’s findings indicated that the management team, managed by Ali Nayara Mai Samba, has already pencilled in the players they aim to approach and maybe sign if they reach an agreement.
Our investigation also revealed that Kano Pillars management plans to contact players from this year’s league champions Remo Stars, Enugu Rangers, Rivers United, and Plateau United.
Other players to be approached according to our inquiry are those of Ikorodo United, Enyimba, and Abia Warriors, among others.
Our inquiry showed that the Kano Pillars Management intends to send their players’ sign-on requests to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf via Commissioner of Sports Development, Hon. Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso, for approval.
The club’s administration will convene at any time from now to decide which players to approach and sign in preparation for the next football season.
Our research also indicated that the club’s management had finalized plans to hire another coach to replace Usman Abdallah.
In another development, the club will put some of its players on transfer to make room for newly signed players.
But the list of affected athletes has yet to be disclosed, but our data indicate that approximately 20 players will be affected.
Efforts to hear from Chairman Ali Mai Samba for confirmation of these developments proved futile because his line is always busy.
