Yesterday’s friendly football game between the students of Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education (in green) and Skyline University Nigeria (in blue and white) saw the latter upset the host by a single goal.

According to the Skyline University Sports officer, Abubakar Adam Karaye, both teams gave it their all in the game, which was played at the Skyline University Sports Complex, but their strong defence prevented that from happening.

However, the visitors’ altered style of play caused the host defense to get disorganized, which led to a goal in the game’s eleventh minute.

The home team’s attempts to equalize were all unsuccessful since the Saadatutu Rimi guys blocked every play they made.

I was at the production unit of the Triumph Publishing Company, Kano but my keen interest in sports journalism made me to be sports writer and maintained a sports column called (Sports Eye) after my mentor Sani Muhammad Zaria transferred his service to New Nigeria newspapers in Kaduna. And when the government closed the Triumph in 2012, I was transfered to lectured DTP in the Department of Printing Technology of Kano State Polytechnic. And now that I retired, i used to visit the institution weekends for part-time lecturing.
