As the 11th Kano State Higher Institution Games (KASHIGA) popularly called Governor’s Cup enters its second day, all the registered teams are putting highly spirited efforts to register their victories over their opponents.

The  games which were going on simultaneously  at the three designated centers yesterday saw Tropical COHT playing a goalless draw with their College of Agric counterpart in their first game while Yusuf Maitama University defeated School of Hygiene by a lone goal.

Federal University of Education Kano massacred School of Health Technology Bebeji by four goals to nothing.

The encounter between the Federal College of Education (Tech) Bichi  and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso CAS Tudun Wada  ended in a 1-1 draw.

The competition enters its third day today with Kano Polytechnic slogging it out with ECOHSAT this evening at the Federal University of Education Kano.

While the team of Kano State College of Education and Preliminary Studies faces their Audu Bako College of Agriculture counterpart at the Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano.

At the Saadatu Rimi Center, this evening, the team of School of Health Technology will lock horns with the team of College of Nursing Kano.

I was at the production unit of the Triumph Publishing Company, Kano but my keen interest in sports journalism made me to be sports writer and maintained a sports column called (Sports Eye) after my mentor Sani Muhammad Zaria transferred his service to New Nigeria newspapers in Kaduna. And when the government closed the Triumph in 2012, I was transfered to lectured DTP in the Department of Printing Technology of Kano State Polytechnic. And now that I retired, i used to visit the institution weekends for part-time lecturing.
