    KASHIGA Day 3: Kano Poly loses first match

    Kano State Polytechnic has lost their first match in the on-going 11th Kano State Higher Institution Games (KASHIGA) otherwise known as Governor’s Cup.

    The encounter which was played yesterday evening was decided at the Federal University of Education Kano. ECOHSAT defeated Kano Poly by a lone goal and all effort to equalize and register more was frustrated by the ECOHSAT boys.

    In another match played at the Yusuf Maitama Sule University Kano, the ABCO Agric team pips their KSCOEPS counterpart with a lone goal.

    At the Saadatu Rimi College of Education Center, the College Of Nursing Sciences overrides School of Health Tech Kano with two unreplied goals while Tropical COHT also defeated  FCE(T) Bichi by a lone goal at the Federal University of Education Kano center.

    The competition enters its fourth day with the following matches:- FCO Agric is to meet Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso CAS at Yusuf Maitama Sule University. Federal University og Education Kano to play host to School of Health Tech Kano at the  Saadatu Rimi College of Education Center.

    Kano Polytechnic will play their second match of the game with School of Hygiene Kano at the Federal University of Education Kano center.

    Similarly, the Saadatu Rimi College of Education team will face Audu Bako COAD at the Yusuf Maitama Sule University.

    I was a staff of the then Triumph Newspapers, with keen interest in sports journalism which drove me to the unit where I was supported and oiled in the dynamics of modern sports reporting by my mentor/friend, Sani Zaria, the then Group Sports Editor of the Triumph. And when he left in 1995, I tried to sustain the spirit against all odds with a column sportesye. But when The Triumph was closed, I was moved to Kano Polytechnic as a lecturer until my retirement last 3 years, which gives me time to return to what I know best , the recreation of the SPORTS EYE.
