Following the expiration of the contract of the technical crew of the Kano Pillars Football Club, the management of the team is set to unveil the new team to head the technical department of the club anytime from now.

This development was disclosed by an official of the club who wants his name not to be revealed this morning.

The source further told www.sportseye.ng that some top class coaches have already indicated their interest to head the Kano Pillars technical crew next football season.

“I am happy to tell you that some coaches have already submitted their CV’s to the management of Kano Pillars to lead Kano Pillars FC next season,” the source said.

Asked to unfold the names of the coaches who have shown interest on Kano Pillars  coaching job, the source mentioned Abdu Maikaba as the only name he can remember.

“Abdu Maikaba is surely one of those that indicated their interest to head Pillars technical team, but I cannot recall the rest that also showed interest for the job”, he added.

The source further divulged that the chairman of the team Babangida Little has congratulated and thanked the out-going coaches of the team for their contribution to the successes of the team.

“Little have thanked and commended the out-going technical crew of his team  for their brilliant and commendable effort in bringing Kano Pillars back to division one,” he concluded.

I was a staff of the then Triumph Newspapers, with keen interest in sports journalism which drove me to the unit where I was supported and oiled in the dynamics of modern sports reporting by my mentor/friend, Sani Zaria, the then Group Sports Editor of the Triumph. And when he left in 1995, I tried to sustain the spirit against all odds with a column sportesye. But when The Triumph was closed, I was moved to Kano Polytechnic as a lecturer until my retirement last 3 years, which gives me time to return to what I know best , the recreation of the SPORTS EYE.
