Ahmad Musbahu was also named in the statement released by the Director-General, Media and Publicity, Government House Kano, Malam Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, as Chairman of the newly constituted Kano Pillars Football Club Management Board.
Musbahu, who enjoys the confidence and backing of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, will serve alongside 16 other members entrusted with the responsibility of managing the affairs of the four-time Nigerian league champions.
The board is expected to provide strategic leadership, strengthen the club’s administration, and guide Kano Pillars towards achieving greater success both on and off the pitch.

According to Dawakin Tofa, Abba Galadima, who was the former chairman of Kano Pillars, is to serve as elder and member while Sharu Inuwa Rabiu who is the chairman of Kano State Football Association will serve as member along with Fatima Ibrahim Abubakar, Bashir Idris (Former Chairman, Fans Club), Abubakar Isa Dandago and Salisu Muhammad Kosawa.
Others to serve as members include Chairman, Kano Pillars Fans Club, Jamilu Tijani Yamadawa (SSA Sports), Engr. Usman Mustapha K/Na’isa (SSA Mahaha), Murtala Umar – SSR and Kabiru Usman – SR.
Ahmed Musa, the former General Manager of the club who was named as Sports Ambassador is also to serve as member of the board.
Governor Yusuf charged the appointees to leverage their wealth of experience, expertise, and commitment to accelerate sports development in Kano State, with particular emphasis on talent identification, grassroots sports promotion, and the revival of Kano Pillars Football Club’s rich legacy.
The governor also expressed confidence that the newly constituted Kano Pillars Management Board possesses the capacity to reposition the team to deliver meaningful results.
He noted that their appointment reflects the administration’s determination to build a vibrant sporting sector capable of producing good results and bring trophies and laurels to the state.
Governor Yusuf further stated that he expects the new leadership to usher in an era of professionalism, transparency, excellence, and sustained success, while restoring Kano’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s foremost sporting states.
He urged them to work diligently and collaboratively in achieving the government’s vision for sports development and youth empowerment.
