The management of Kano Pillars Football Club’s sluggish approach to recruiting a tentative Technical Adviser for the squad ahead 25/26 season is causing concern among all supporters and sports stakeholders in the state.
This is happening while the start of the new season is just a few weeks away, with several teams already in camp for serious and demanding preparation.
This site’s investigation discovered that the team is yet to locate a replacement for Coach Usman Abdallah, who withdrew his appointment as the club’s Technical Adviser after the club’s management rushed to accept it.
Our findings also show that the two or three coaches the club approached for the Kano Pillars coaching position did not produce results because they are all fully engaged with their respective teams.
This unfortunate situation is raising major anxiety among stakeholders and Kano Pillars fans, prompting them to be casting accusing fingers at the club’s management.
The majority of those who contacted this site on the subject voiced concern about the team’s prospects in the upcoming season as a result of poor preparation.
Many are disappointed, believing that the government’s appointment of former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa as the new General Manager would improve the situation, but they were astonished to learn nothing.
When contacted for comment on this problem, the club’s Management Committee chairman, Alhaji Ali Nayara Mai Samba, claimed that the new coach will be announced this week and that he is expected to resume training on Monday of next week.
Mai Samba then urged the Kano Pillars supporters and sports stakeholders to appreciate the club’s plight, stating that since Abdallah’s departure, they have been approaching top coaches for the position only to discover that they are already committed to other teams.
When asked to name the team’s new groom, Mai Samba declined, but said the coach would be revealed this week, God willing.
“He is among the top flight coaches in this country and by the time we made him known, we are all going to like him,” states Mai Samba.
Mai Samba then advised all to support and collaborate with the new coach so that he will not only enjoy his time with the team but also enjoy working with them.
