Wapa congratulates Abba…urges for credible Pillars management

A leading supporter and number one contender for the chairmanship of the Kano Pillars Football Club Supporters Club, Alh Naziru Aminu Abubakar Dukawa has congratulated Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf for his inauguration as the new chief executive of Kano state.

Alhaji Naziru also known as Naziru Pillars sent his congratulation message last weekend in an interview with www.sportseye.ng in Kano.

Naziru Pillars, who is a number one choice for the Kano Pillars fans club chairmanship then advised the state number one citizen to put people of integrity to serve as managers of Kano Pillars Football Club.

According to Naziru Pillars, a wealthy individual with an unflinching love and support for Kano Pillars Football Club should be appointed as the club’s chairman.

“To me, that is the only way the team can stand on its feet and move out of the hands of the people who want to eat from the team and always go to the government for finance,” he stated.

On the types of people to serve as members of the board of Kano Pillars FC, Alhaji Naziru Wapa said, there is a need for professionals to be on the board.

“We need people who are well experienced in the banking or financial sector, some business men, people who are knowledgeable with Nigerian football politics and people who are experienced in grassroots soccer to work with the chairman as a team,” he added.

On the running cost of Kano Pillars, Alhaji Naziru explained that experience has made him know that, with a harmonized salary structure, Kano Pillars have no problem with players’ salaries.

“What the team needs is funds for players’ and officials’ hotel bills with their feeding allowances and money for fueling its vehicles,” said Alhaji Naziru Pillars.

From the above scenario, Naziru Pillars then advocates for a ten match budget plan for Kano Pillars FC.

“This will see the government releasing some substantial amount of money for the team after every ten matches played.

“It will also save the government money from being squandered by some wicket club officials,” said Naziru Wapa.

Alhaji Naziru then prayed for the almighty God to guide governor Abba kabir Yusuf to achieve what he wanted to achieve for Kano state.

I was a staff of the then Triumph Newspapers, with keen interest in sports journalism which drove me to the unit where I was supported and oiled in the dynamics of modern sports reporting by my mentor/friend, Sani Zaria, the then Group Sports Editor of the Triumph. And when he left in 1995, I tried to sustain the spirit against all odds with a column sportesye. But when The Triumph was closed, I was moved to Kano Polytechnic as a lecturer until my retirement last 3 years, which gives me time to return to what I know best , the recreation of the SPORTS EYE.
