The incorporation of experienced professionals into Nigeria’s football system remains critical to its growth, sustainability, and global competitiveness.

Isiboroby Eunice Chike, a former Nigeria Female National Team (Falcons) player, renowned sports psychologist, and seasoned sports administrator, exemplifies such a wealth of expertise, passion, and dedication to the game.

From her early playing days in the 1990s with Princess Bola Jegede Female Football Club and the Nigeria Female National Team, Eunice Chike set high standards of discipline, leadership, and technical understanding of the game.

Her career as a defender was marked by dedication and an unwavering commitment to teamwork, contributing to national and club successes, including victories in the Lagos State FA Cup and podium finishes in national and continental competitions.

Beyond her exploits on the pitch, Eunice has distinguished herself in sports education and management.

Armed with a Master’s Degree in Sports Psychology and a B.Sc. in Physical Education from the University of Lagos, she has consistently merged academic knowledge with practical football experience.

Her professional certifications in coaching, first aid, time management, and player mentorship further amplify her capacity to impact the game at multiple levels.

Her work history reflects a blend of technical expertise, player development skills, and leadership. As a sports coordinator, sports psychologist, and physical education teacher, she has fostered environments where discipline, fair play, and motivation drive performance.

At NANPF, she plays a pivotal role in mentoring upcoming players, coordinating ex-players, and serving as a motivational speaker bridging the gap between generations of football talent.

Incorporating Eunice Chike into Nigeria’s football administration, technical development programs, or women’s football growth initiatives would not only strengthen the system’s knowledge base but also serve as a motivational blueprint for aspiring female footballers.

Her dual perspective as an ex-international and a certified sports psychologist is a rare asset in an industry that requires both technical and mental performance expertise.

Professionals like Isiboroby Eunice Chike have the ability to guide young players, shape football policies, and enhance grassroots programs, especially for women’s football.

Her track record of leadership, mentorship, and academic grounding in sports science makes her a perfect candidate for roles in technical committees, women’s football development departments, and youth programs.

I was at the production unit of the Triumph Publishing Company, Kano but my keen interest in sports journalism made me to be sports writer and maintained a sports column called (Sports Eye) after my mentor Sani Muhammad Zaria transferred his service to New Nigeria newspapers in Kaduna. And when the government closed the Triumph in 2012, I was transfered to lectured DTP in the Department of Printing Technology of Kano State Polytechnic. And now that I retired, i used to visit the institution weekends for part-time lecturing.
