The Ag. President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Bonny Nyong had last Thursday inaugurated a 3-man committee to investigate all the allegations of infractions leveled against the suspended President of the association Mr. Isaiah Benjamin.

According to a Release signed by Olalekan Ige, the Deputy Secretary General which was made available to this site, the committee which has Nura Garba Muhammad (Chairman), Olatutu Oladunni (Secretary) and Foster Chime (member) was tagged as the Independent Investigative Committee (IIC).

The committee was inaugurated before all the members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) that were present in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state capital.

Speaking at the occasion, the Ag. President stated that the essence of their assignment is not to witch-hunt anybody but to unearth the truth state of what happened and ensure that the association thrives on laid down rules and regulations.

He then charged the committee members to do a thorough work devoid of favoritism or bias and unfold the fact which will be used to move the association forward.

Mr. Nyong asked told the committee to be guided by the Statute of the Association while discharging their duties and ensure that their finding is submitted within the stipulated time.

Also speaking, the chairman of the committee, Nura Garba Muhammad , thanked the Ag. President for the opportunity to serve and promised that they would work in accordance with the Association’s Statute and in strict confidence.

The three-man committee was given ninety (90) days to complete its work and submit its findings.
