The Nigeria Football Coaches Association (NFCA), Kano State Chapter, has announced a major initiative aimed at strengthening the capacity of football coaches in the state, as the association prepares to host a Three-Day Modern Football Coaching Seminar for all registered members.

The seminar invitation was personally communicated to this platform this morning through an official message sent by the Chairman of the association, Barrister Ibrahim Gwadabe, a legal practitioner and football development advocate, who conveyed the information directly and expressed the chapter’s commitment to advancing modern coaching standards.

According to the invitation details, the opening ceremony of the seminar is scheduled for Thursday, 8th January 2026, at the Senior Staff Recreation Center, Bayero University Kano (BUK), New Campus, commencing promptly at 9:00 AM.

While the event will conclude with a closing ceremony at the same venue on Saturday, 10th January 2026, at 3:00 PM.

The seminar is designed to expose participants to the latest tactical innovations, performance training methodologies, sports science integration, player management techniques, and emerging global trends shaping the world’s most popular sport.

The organizers noted that the program will also provide an opportunity for coaches to exchange ideas, upgrade their technical knowledge, and align with modern football realities.

The Kano chapter of the NFCA reaffirmed that the seminar forms part of its long-term strategy to continuously develop coaches, improve grassroots football quality, and contribute meaningfully to the overall growth of the game in Nigeria.

Members are strongly encouraged to attend the seminar, as it promises to be an impactful learning experience capable of shaping the future of football coaching in Kano State and beyond.

I was a staff of the then Triumph Newspapers, with keen interest in sports journalism which drove me to the unit where I was supported and oiled in the dynamics of modern sports reporting by my mentor/friend, Sani Zaria, the then Group Sports Editor of the Triumph. And when he left in 1995, I tried to sustain the spirit against all odds with a column sportesye. But when The Triumph was closed, I was moved to Kano Polytechnic as a lecturer until my retirement last 3 years, which gives me time to return to what I know best , the recreation of the SPORTS EYE.
