    We’re out to fish teachers out of unwarranted loans-Aisha Adamu

    To salvage the entire primary school teachers from Tarauni LEA totally from the shackles of excessive loans with high interest rates, a cooperative society, Tarauni LEA Teaching Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society has been debuted.

    The president of the newly created cooperative society, Aisha Adamu Mustapha made the disclosure in her office which is situated in  Tarauni Primary School,  Kano.

    Hajiya Aisha explained that the society is put in place to help and secure teachers especially of primary school from accessing multiple loans with high interest rates.

    According to her, the newly created cooperatives have plans of buying assorted goods from various dealers and manufacturers and selling them to members at a very low and affordable price. 

    “Our association plans to assist our members to get the best items or essential commodities at a very low price and also stand to gain something  at the end of the financial year when dividend will be shared to members according to their shares”,Hajia Aisha Adamu Mustapha explained.

    The president of the Tarauni LEA  Cooperative society further revealed that her cooperative plans to introduce skills accusations for teachers to enable them to have something to do and depend on so as to reduce their over-dependence on their salaries and stop rampant loan takings.

    “Our plans for skills accusation for teachers is aimed at making them to focus on doing something that will improve their financial status which will also make them  financially   buoyant and independent,”

    ”After training our members on various skills, we will examine their products’ quality and help market the products for them in good times,” she added.

    Hajia Aisha then stated that, those trained can then train their pupils so that they too can acquire numerous skills which will assist them and their parents at home.

    She then called on all primary school teachers to see the cooperative as a partner in progress and troop and register so that they can benefit from all the goodies the society has for them.

    Hajia Aisha then commended the executive governor of Kano state,  Kano Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for his unflinching contribution to the upliftment of primary school teachers in Kano through his administration’s prompt payment of salary and his planned promotions of teachers in the state and also the chairman of the state SUBEB, Alhaji Danlami Haiyo for his support an advice which is helpful  to the society.

    The Tarauni Cooperative leader also commended the head of finance of the Board, Alhaji Yusuf Sarki and Alhaji Rabiu Harbau for their assistance.

    She lastly extended her society’s appreciation to the Tarauni Education Secretary, Alhaji Haladu Muhammad Dantsinke, for his kind gesture and contribution to the development of the society.

    Hajia Aisha then extended her  indebtedness to her society’s patron, Comrade Isa Yunusa Danguguwa for his support and backing.

    I was a staff of the then Triumph Newspapers, with keen interest in sports journalism which drove me to the unit where I was supported and oiled in the dynamics of modern sports reporting by my mentor/friend, Sani Zaria, the then Group Sports Editor of the Triumph. And when he left in 1995, I tried to sustain the spirit against all odds with a column sportesye. But when The Triumph was closed, I was moved to Kano Polytechnic as a lecturer until my retirement last 3 years, which gives me time to return to what I know best , the recreation of the SPORTS EYE.
