To reduce its overdependence on government funds, the management of Kano Pillars Football Club has allegedly signed a N30 million contract with Gongoni Ltd, the producers of Rambo insecticides.
Our investigation revealed that the company which is based in Kano has agreed with the deal which will pay the sum of 30 Million Naira to the club.
Under the deal, our findings revealed that the company will provide Kano Pillars among others with sets of jerseys with the company’s name or product name for the Kano Pillars players to be wearing during their home and away matches.
Consequently, Kano Pillars FC is expected to collect the sum of N30 million from the deal which period is not certain as no official is ready to confirm.
Kano Pillars players were last Saturday at the Sani Abacha Stadium during their league match against Bayelsa United appeared with the jersey with RAMBO boldly written on the front side of their players’ jersey which took everybody by surprised as nobody was in the picture of when the deal was signed and the money involved.
Similarly, at the time of filing this report, no official of the club was ready to say anything about it and all efforts to hear from the club’s chairman failed as his phone was switched off.
Our investigation further revealed the club had made a good amount of money from the beginning of the league to date.
Our findings revealed that the club with the help of its supporters club had rakes about N10 Million from the three matches it so far played at the Sani Abacha stadium.
But most supporters that spoke to www.sportseye.ng commended the management of the club for their efforts in getting Kano Pillars out of their financial mess.
They also urged them to use the money they are getting wisely.
