Audu Bako College of Agriculture Danbatta has secured a finals ticket of the on-going 11th Kano State Higher Institution Games (KASHIGA) popularly called Governor’s Cup after their 5-4 penalties victory over Kano State Polytechnic.

The match, which its spectators described as a highly intense match, saw both teams trying to get an early goal but their poor finishing denied them. The game ended goalless after the 90 minutes of hostilities.

In the second semis, the Tropical COHT triumph over the ECOHSAT with a lone goal to book their finals ticket.

In another development, the organizers of the competition have unreservedly apologized for their inability to stage the third place match between the two losers of the semi finals and the final matches as scheduled.

The two matches according to the chairman of the LOC have been postponed to next week Thursday 31/10/2024 at the same time INSHA ALLAH.

This according to him is due to some logical reasons behind KASHIGA’s control.

“KASHIGA is sorry for any inconvenience that might cause you due to this development please’’, he added.

I was a staff of the then Triumph Newspapers, with keen interest in sports journalism which drove me to the unit where I was supported and oiled in the dynamics of modern sports reporting by my mentor/friend, Sani Zaria, the then Group Sports Editor of the Triumph. And when he left in 1995, I tried to sustain the spirit against all odds with a column sportesye. But when The Triumph was closed, I was moved to Kano Polytechnic as a lecturer until my retirement last 3 years, which gives me time to return to what I know best , the recreation of the SPORTS EYE.
