    • The ongoing KASHIGA-organized Staff Games continued with exciting football action this evening as participating institutions battled for supremacy across different centers.
    • At the Northwest University, Kano Center, the Capital City University staff team produced an impressive performance, defeating Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso College of Education (COE) by three unanswered goals.
    • From the start of the encounter, Capital City University showed greater determination and tactical discipline, controlling key moments of the match and converting their chances effectively.
    • Despite efforts from the Kwankwaso COE side to fight back, they were unable to break through the strong defensive organization of their opponents as the game ended 3–0.
    • In another fixture played at the same venue, the Federal College of Education (FCE) Bichi also recorded a convincing victory, defeating KACEPT (KAS) by an identical three-goal margin.
    • The result further highlighted the competitive spirit and quality of football on display at the tournament.
Meanwhile, at the Yusuf Maitama Sule Federal University of Education Center, the College of Nursing delivered a remarkable performance, defeating Yusuf Maitama Sule College of Education, Gwarzo, by four goals to one.
    • The College of Nursing side dominated proceedings and secured a well-deserved victory after an entertaining encounter.

I was a staff of the then Triumph Newspapers, with keen interest in sports journalism which drove me to the unit where I was supported and oiled in the dynamics of modern sports reporting by my mentor/friend, Sani Zaria, the then Group Sports Editor of the Triumph. And when he left in 1995, I tried to sustain the spirit against all odds with a column sportesye. But when The Triumph was closed, I was moved to Kano Polytechnic as a lecturer until my retirement last 3 years, which gives me time to return to what I know best , the recreation of the SPORTS EYE.
