The leadership of the Nigerian School Sports Federation (NSSF) has been commended for its laudable programmes aimed at promoting and developing various sporting activities across the country.
The Director/Principal of Government Girls College (GGC) Dala, Hajiya Hauwa Nuhu Wali, gave the commendation while receiving executive members of the NSSF, led by its President, Mrs. Olabisi Joseph, during a courtesy visit to her office in Kano.
Hajiya Wali praised the federation for its commitment to advancing school sports development and creating opportunities for students to discover and nurture their talents through organized sporting activities.
She noted that the NSSF’s efforts are instrumental in encouraging youth participation in sports while fostering discipline, teamwork, and excellence among young learners.
She also reaffirmed the school’s support for initiatives that promote sports development, especially among female students, stressing the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and sports bodies in building future champions for the nation.

Hajia Hauwa Wali called on local, state and the federal governments as well as multi corporate organisations to partner with the Federation in order to actualize the set objectives.
The principal pledged to continue to provide facilities for the NSSF officials whenever the need arises with a view to complement their efforts for the overall development of sports countrywide.
While expressing gratitude to the NSSF for choosing the school to host the workshop out of hundreds schools in the state, she described sports as a significant factor that unite various ethnic groups in the country.
She pledged to attend the closing ceremony of the workshop scheduled to hold tomorrow Tuesday 12,, May, 2026 at the conference hall of the college.
Earlier, the President of the NSSF, Mrs Olabisi Joseph thanked Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, the ministry of education and college authorities for the support and cooperation given to the Federation.
Mrs Olabisi Joseph however, said that the Federation has been doing everything possible to complement the efforts of the National Sports Commission NSC and the Nigerian Olympic committee NOC towards the overall development of sports in the country.
Meanwhile, the final of this year’s Inter-Secondary schools Savannah Conference will hold today Tuesday at the indoor sports hall of Sani Abacha Sports Complex Kofar Mata, Kano.
