The attention of the management of Barau Football Club has been drawn to a short write-up currently circulating widely under the headline “ATTENTION: BARAU FC IN SILENT PLIGHT?”.
In the publication, it was alleged that some members of the club, including staff, coaches, and a number of players have expressed frustration, anger, and disappointment over what they described as persistent harassment and abuse allegedly carried out by the club’s General Manager, Dominic Iorfa.
According to the report, the affected individuals claimed that the alleged actions have created an atmosphere of tension and discomfort within the club’s working environment, raising concerns about the welfare of personnel and the overall professionalism expected in a football institution.

The authors of the write-up, who described themselves as concerned sports observers and analysts, called on the leadership and management of the club to urgently look into the allegations.
They stressed that a thorough and transparent investigation would be necessary to determine the facts surrounding the claims and to ensure that appropriate steps are taken where necessary.
They further maintained that taking prompt action on the matter would help restore discipline, mutual respect, and professionalism within the club, particularly at a time when the team is performing strongly in the ongoing NPFL season.
According to them, addressing the situation without delay would also help protect the club’s image and credibility, not only within the state but across the wider Nigerian football community.
The observers also emphasized the importance of protecting the image of football in Kano, noting that the state is privileged to host two prominent football clubs, Kano Pillars F.C. and Barau Football Club both of which represent the pride and sporting identity of the people.
They further stated that, allowing internal crises or alleged misconduct to go unchecked could damage the credibility of the clubs and the broader football community in the state.
“We are proud that Kano is home to two major football clubs, Kano Pillars and Barau FC. For this reason, we cannot afford to allow the reputation of these institutions to be undermined by a few individuals who may eventually abandon the system when difficulties arise and leave the people to bear the consequences,” the statement noted.
They therefore urged the club’s leadership to take swift and responsible action in order to preserve the integrity, stability, and future of the club.
All efforts by this platform to reach officials of Barau FC were unsuccessful, as those contacted through phone calls did not respond.
