From Muawuya Bala Idris, Katsina:
The second edition of the Dikko Umaru Radda Football Scouting Tournament has officially kicked off at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina, bringing together young talents from different academies in a bid to open pathways into professional football.
The scouting programme is being organised by the Katsina Football Academy in collaboration with Belarusian club FC Torpedo-BelAZ Zhodino Prolex, as part of efforts to expose local players to international opportunities and professional standards.
The three-day event features six participating teams and academies, including Deliberate Academy Kaduna, Katsina Football Academy Team A and B, Katsina United FC U19, Moha Sherrif Academy, and Musa Haro Academy.
Throughout the tournament, players are expected to display their skills, discipline, and tactical awareness as scouts closely assess their performance with the aim of identifying standout talents capable of progressing to European football.
At the end of the programme, selected players will be picked by the scouting team based on merit, with the possibility of securing opportunities to play professionally abroad.
