- The football event of the Staff Games of the Kano State Higher Institution Games, popularly known as KASHIGA, came to an exciting conclusion as Northwest University defeated a determined and entertaining Federal College of Education (Technical), Bichi, 3-1 in the final match.
- The final match marked the end of a week-long series of sporting activities featuring various events among higher institutions across Kano State.
- The third-place match between FCAPT Hotoro and the College of Nursing could not hold due to the inability of the College of Nursing to honour the fixture. Consequently, the victory was automatically awarded to FCAPT Hotoro.
- In the Tug of War event, Bayero University Kano (BUK) emerged champions, Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education finished second, while Kano State Polytechnic secured third position.
- In the Walk Race event, Northwest University claimed first place, followed by the Federal College of Agricultural Produce Technology (FCAPT) in second position, while Kano State Polytechnic and Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education shared third place after recording the same result.
- In the 100m Race event, Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education emerged victorious, finishing first, while the Federal College of Agricultural Produce Technology (FCAPT) secured second position and Northwest University came third.
- The dignitaries who attended the final events included Alhaji Tukur Babangida, Chairman of the Kano State Sports Commission; Dr Bashir Sabo Abubakar, Provost of Federal College of Education (Technical), Bichi; Prof. Amina Salihi Bayero, Vice-Chancellor of Northwest University; Dr Usman Zango, Deputy Provost (Academics) of Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education; and Prof. Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa, Chairman of the Implementation Committee, Gaya Polytechnic, among others.
